 ABOUT REIKI THERAPY

reikiReiki is a generic word in Japan and is used to describe any type of healing work based on the Universal Life force energy. Reiki was rediscovered by a Japanese man ‘Dr Mikao Usui' at the end of the 19th century. We came across this knowledge in Tibet and again later in India and found modified forms of it in the Japanese, Chinese, Egyptian, Greek and Roman cultures to name just a few.

This knowledge was guarded and only passed on by word of mouth.

Reiki is non-religious, so can be accepted by anyone of any faith or creed. Reiki is normally applied by the hands, but can be transmitted by other ways, eg: feet, arms, elbows and forehead. Reiki should only be given if the recipient is willing to accept it.

The practitioner is only the channel of healing energy.

The five Reiki principles are:

JUST FOR TODAY ~ DO NOT WORRY

JUST FOR TODAY ~ DO NOT ANGER

HONOUR YOUR PARENTS, TEACHERS AND ELDERS

EARN YOUR LIVING HONESTLY

SHOW GRATITUDE TO EVERY LIVING THING.

Try to recite these principles daily and to follow at least one daily.

There are three modules of Reiki: 1st and 2nd degree and ‘The Masters'. These modules should be taught by a qualified Reiki Teacher over a period of two years. Once the modules have been completed, you can then be taught to become a Reiki Teacher.
